About The Event

Join us on Monday, January 20, when the Cleveland Museum of Art opens its doors for a free daylong celebration honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Explore how the moving passages of Dr. King’s writings and speeches shed light on the museum’s collection and create a work of art inspired by his legacy. 

Guests are invited to experience the blockbuster exhibition Picasso and Paper for FREE. No tickets are required. Visitors are admitted into the exhibition throughout the day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Amplify your message and unlock the power of printmaking with Zygote Press. Reflect and record the ways you will take action in 2025 as we guide you through creating your own print. 

Response Station: Community Threads 

Think about your community and what you value most. Inscribe your hope onto fabric and weave it onto our collaborative tapestry. 

Little Library 

Step into our mini reading space featuring picture books that celebrate diversity and explore tales that weave together threads of unity, fostering a sense of belonging inspired by Dr. King’s vision. 

Education Art Collection

View and learn about artworks from the CMA’s Education Art Collection.

Ingalls Library

Explore a selection of books related to artists and changemakers in the museum’s collection.

University Circle Inc: Circlelink Shuttle

A free shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. between select institutions. Hop on and hop off at any of the listed locations! The CircleLink Shuttle will continue their regular daily service throughout the district.

Community Arts Center Shuttle

Guests are invited to use the University Circle Inc. shuttle to travel between locations (the CMA in University Circle and the CAC in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood) to explore more opportunities for engagement. Shuttle departures are every 20–30 minutes.
