The Fran and Warren Rupp Contemporary Artists Lecture Series
Cleveland native Allen Ruppersberg is one of the most influential and inventive conceptual artists to emerge in the late 1960s. Rooted in language, his work is wide-ranging in media and approach; it includes photo-based narratives combining text and image, participatory projects, and film.
Next summer, Ruppersberg will be featured in FRONT International Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art with an ambitious, site-specific project at the Cleveland Museum of Art. This spring, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis will present Allen Ruppersberg: Intellectual Property 1968–2018, a comprehensive survey organized by Siri Engberg, curator of visual arts at the Walker. Enjoy a conversation between Ruppersberg and Engberg to learn more about his groundbreaking work and upcoming exhibitions.
