Education Art Collection
Museum educators directly connect audiences with authentic objects with programs utilizing our extensive education art collection (EAC). The EAC spans 5,000 years of human history with about 10,000 authentic works of art from across the globe. Areas of strength include ceramics, armor, textiles, works on paper, and decorative arts from the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. These works of art are used in programs both on-site and off-site. Unlike objects in the main museum collection, many objects can be handled under supervision, offering an engaging, multisensory opportunity to engage with art.

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Education Art Collection (EAC) is a distinct collection of about 10,000 authentic works of art used as part of the museum’s educational and community programs. To learn more about objects in the EAC, visit the Education Art Database.
Art to Go
The education art collection is also available to come to you. Bring a one-of-a-kind learning experience and authentic artworks from around the globe and across time into your school, library, community center, or educational space. Art to Go participants use multiple senses as they practice close observation and learn how to carefully handle art objects and artifacts from the museum’s education art collection.
Art Up Close
Art Up Close offers museum visitors a special opportunity to get close to authentic works of art from our education art collection. Offered a few times a month and in conjunction with selected special events, find Art Up Close in the Ames Family Atrium. For specific dates, visit our calendar.
