Annapurna Valluri

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

Annapurna is the treasurer and chief financial officer for the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA). Her responsibilities include managing the overall financial operations and budgeting process, as well as cash and investments. She joined the CMA in July 2021.

Most recently, Annapurna was a director (senior portfolio manager) at MAI Capital Management. Prior to joining MAI, Annapurna managed a $2.7 billion investment portfolio for University Hospitals. Before that, Annapurna was an institutional advisor at J. P. Morgan in New York for the firm’s large global clients comprising central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and pension plans. She has also worked as a sell-side analyst at J. P. Morgan covering interest rate derivatives and at Deutsche Bank covering mortgage-backed securities.

Annapurna holds a PhD in operations and information management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a dual bachelor’s degree in computer science and finance from the University of Maryland, College Park. Annapurna is a board member and board treasurer of the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. She has also served on the investment committees for the United Way of Greater Cleveland and Beaumont School.

In 2022, Annapurna was honored as a Notable Immigrant Leader by Crain’s Cleveland Business. That same year, she received another accolade, Notables in Finance, by Crain’s Cleveland Business.
